ColourSons (Robert Scott / coL / Jonathan Scott) began in the basement of a NYC record store. It was the
summer of 2003, and coL discoverd a Doleful Lions album while werking in the used CD department (which
happened to be in the basement) of a Manhattan record shop.

coL later used a sample of one of the songs in a live performance at the Brooklyn Art & History center. Two
years later, coL got in touch with Jonathan Scott via the web. A connection and a collaboration was made.
The sample that was used in the show was also incorporated into the ColourSons Album.

In own words:

"No one ever came down into the basement, so I was alone most the time, listening to new treasures
that were found. One day I came across this album by the Doleful Lions called "Out Like A Lamb". The
combination of the title and the cover art made me put it into the player... I was blown away." -coL
