Ariel Pink began writing songs at the tender age of 10, humming tunes to himself while walking to school. Making music is in his blood. As he grew taller and developed his skills, his songwriting and productions became more advanced. In his late teens, his cut and copy style of creating songs on an 8-track cassette machine had become an art. In 1999, he started to seriously pass around homemade cassette copies of a collection of his favorite new songs. This was the dawn of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. Over the next few years, Pink released a few CD's with underground Los Angeles labels, finally making a bigger connection with Animal Collective, who released "The Doldrums" worldwide. Thus began his rise from the underground.
